Who am I?
I fell in love with the sound of the shutter many years ago. I believe the experience of capturing an image is the source of many of the most pleasureable moments in my life, and that the printed image I am able to create as a result of that experience is the icing on the cake.
Photography has been an interest of mine for most of my life, initially using my parent’s camera to snap photos of various toys posed on the kitchen table, to the time I received my first camera, a Kodak X-15, and on into my adult years when I purchased my first digital camera, a Canon Rebel.
Since then I have shot with Canon, Sony, Nikon, Hasselblad, and Leica and discovered each to have it’s own uses, and shortcomings. I now adhere to the belief that the best camera is the one in your hand and that it gets better the more you use it.
I take what I do seriously, and accept the responsibility of providing my clients with a physical representation of a vision that may only exist in their memory. The sense of satisfaction that comes from seeing their eyes light up as they realize I have managed to capture what they envisioned is difficult to equal.
I readily admit that I will never be the least expensive choice, but strongly believe that I provide things of value for people who care. I strive to create images which strike an emotional cord with everyone who views them, understanding that I need to tell a story in one photo that can make the viewer feel as if they were right there with me.
