“Go out empty.”
Words to live by from Jay Maisel. If you head out with a preconceived notion, you are apt to end up disappointed if that which you envisioned doesn’t happen to come your way. On the other hand, if you go out clueless (some have more problem with this than others) then all you have to do is wait for the world to come your way. I mean, after all, I do know how to use my camera, right? If getting people or things in front of it is the biggest problem, well, then problem solved! Not being able to find something interesting to capture speaks more about the skill of the photographer than the quality of the subject matter.
The unexpected always makes the best subject material.
